After the April 9, 1942, U.S. surrender of the Bataan Peninsula on Luzon's main Philippine island to the Japanese during World War II (1939-45), the approximate 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan were forced to make an arduous 65-mile march to prison camps. The marchers made the trek in intense heat and were subjected to harsh treatment by Japanese guards. Thousands perished in what became known as the Bataan Death March. On Saturday, six of Thomasville High School's JROTC cadets participated in a 14-mile walk/run in their honor! The challenge was to complete the entire 14 miles in 4 hours. Montrell Henderson & Charlie Smith finished the event and were awarded certificates and ribbons at the event!

Thomasville City Schools is proud to announce the return of competition cheerleading and the addition of gymnastics to Our Championship Winning Athletics Program for the 2021-2022 school year! For more information visit: https://athletics.tcitys.org/o/athletics/news

At THS we LOVE lab day! Students participated in 2 different labs:
1- Observing Inertia in Action: Students observed inertia in action by rolling carts with an object unsecured, then again secured to determine if their "seatbelts" benefited the occupant of their car.
2- The Force of Gravity: Students observed falling objects to determine if the mass influenced the velocity.
