🎇 Scholars Academy Mathletes took 1st place in the small school division at The Rockdale Mathematics Competition. 🎇 Under the supervision of Coach Darrin Minns, the SA Mathletes traveled to Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology in Conyers, GA. A four student team competed in three of the four rounds: the Power round, the Relay Round, and the Team Round. The fourth round was the Individual Round. Team awards were based on all four rounds. 🏆Congratulations for bringing home the trophy! SA Mathletes: Chloe Do, Jaden Dao, Rachel Miller, Gracie Harden, and Cooper Carson! 🏆

📚🔬 Hands-On Science in Action! 🔬📚 Mrs. Jones' 8th-grade Physical Science class at Scholars Academy explored the fascinating world of acids and bases using collaborative grouping! 💡✨ Students rotated through interactive stations, using pH strips to test the acidity and base levels of everyday solutions and household chemicals. 🏠⚗️ Through hands-on experiments and teamwork, they deepened their understanding of how indicators reveal chemical properties. 🧪🔍Great job, future scientists! 👏🔥

🚨Important Weather Update🚨 Due to continued wintry weather conditions, Thomasville City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, January 23. The county-wide curfew has been extended until 8:00 AM Thursday. Icy road conditions continue to pose a safety concern, making travel unsafe for buses, staff, students, and parents. Additionally, our HB581 hearing scheduled for January 23 will be rescheduled. The hearing on February 3 will proceed as planned. It will provide valuable information on preparing for the future after high school. The transition from school to work or to secondary education is often difficult. Representatives from useful agencies will be available to speak with you on matters related to education and advocacy, medical and legal issues, counseling and care, vocational rehab and employment services, and more.
