As we get ready to welcome students back, we want to make families aware of an important transition: In accordance with Georgia’s new HB340, students will not use personal electronic devices during school hours.
🔒 Middle & high school students will store their devices in Yondr pouches throughout the day.
📚 Elementary schools will follow school-based guidelines aligned with the new law.
We appreciate your partnership as we make this positive transition together—helping students stay present, engaged, and ready to learn.
Thank you for supporting this step toward safer, more focused classrooms.
Let’s disconnect to reconnect.

As part of our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety, metal detectors will be in use this school year at MacIntyre Park Middle School, Scholars Academy, and Thomasville High School.
Please note: Elementary campuses will not be utilizing metal detectors at this time. All staff members at participating schools will receive full training to ensure proper use and a smooth daily process.
Thomasville City Schools remains committed to evaluating and strengthening our safety measures to maintain a secure learning environment. We look forward to welcoming back our students and staff for an exciting and safe school year ahead.
