How will my child be evaluated for acceptance into the Scholars Academy/AIMS?
The completed application with writing assignment and work samples are entered into a rubric. This information along with grades, teacher recommendations, and standardized test scores all add into the final rubric score.

What is the minimum cut score for acceptance into Scholars or AIMS?
The scores change every year based on the applicant pool. The determination between Scholars and AIMS also depends on the applicant pool each year.

When and how will I be notified of an acceptance decision?
A letter will be mailed to the address provided on the application. The letter will notify you of the decision and a date for the welcome to Scholars night. Letters should be received no later than April 15, 2019.

What does a schedule at Scholars and AIMS look like?
Both AIMS and Scholars will follow a block schedule that consists of 90 minute classes. These classes meet every other day with the exception of C Day. Students see all of their teachers on C day. The schedule between SA and AIMS will be more flexible than ever with both programs being blocked.

Will Scholars and AIMS students share lunch?
Yes, both programs eat in the lunchroom at the same time. Eighth grade is allowed to eat outside.

Will my 6th grader have to take a foreign language?
We expose all sixth graders to foreign language. They will not begin earning the foreign language credit until 7th or 8th grade.
